In their subtle form, these are overcome by tracing them back to their source.

Unfolding the thread

When the causes of suffering are only seeds, Patanjali suggests going back upstream: resolving each one into what it came from, until the ego itself dissolves back into pure awareness. It's a subtle practice. You don't fight a seed; you let it return to its origin.

Try today

When a small irritation arises, follow it back: where did it come from? Keep asking until it softens.

The Echo

The same truth, heard in another tradition

“When things (in the vegetable world) have displayed their luxuriant growth, we see each of them return to its root.”
