तारकं सर्वविषयं सर्वथाविषयमक्रमं चेति विवेकजं ज्ञानम्

tārakaṁ sarva-viṣayaṁ sarvathā-viṣayam akramaṁ ceti vivekajaṁ jñānam

Knowledge born of discernment is liberating: it takes in all things, in every way, all at once.

Yoga Sutras 3.55 · verse 161 of 196

Unfolding the thread

Tāraka means "that which carries across", like a boat to the far shore. This knowledge doesn't move step by step; it grasps everything at once. It's the knowing that frees.

Try today

End today by looking back on it as a whole, all at once, like a single picture, rather than a list of events.

The Echo

The same truth, heard in another tradition

“When He Himself reveals Himself, Brahma brings into manifestation That which can never be seen.”
