Autumn

The quiet hour (Brahma Muhurta) is the traditional time for practice, just before sunrise.

Outer causes don't set nature in motion; they only remove obstacles, as a farmer breaks a dam so water can flow into the field.

Yoga Sutras 4.3 · verse 165 of 196

Unfolding the thread

A farmer doesn't push water into the field; he opens the channel and it flows by itself. So too with practice. Our efforts don't create freedom; they clear away what blocks it. Nature does the rest.

Try today

Instead of forcing a change today, look for one obstacle you can simply remove.

The Echo

The same truth, heard in another tradition
