Autumn

The quiet hour (Brahma Muhurta) is the traditional time for practice, just before sunrise.

dṛṣṭānuśravika-viṣaya-vitṛṣṇasya vaśīkāra-saṁjñā vairāgyam

Letting go is the mastery of one who no longer thirsts for things seen or heard of.

Yoga Sutras 1.15 · verse 15 of 196

Unfolding the thread

Vairāgya isn't forcing yourself to stop wanting. It's the quiet mastery that comes as the thirst itself fades, both for things you've seen and for things you've only heard promised: the next purchase, the next achievement, even a heaven. You can still enjoy them. They just no longer own you.

Try today

Notice one "I need" today and try saying "I'd enjoy" instead. See whether anything loosens.
